  Salil Chowdhrey As Bimal Roy booked Kishore Kumar to play the film’s jobless hero opposite heroine Sheila Ramani in the movie Naukri, our singing-star performer assumed that he himself would be rendering the numbers going on the leading man. But Salil Chowdhury invited Hemant Kumar to playback his songs in Naukri , without informing Kishore, who was aghast when he heard about it. Salil gave this tune to Shailendra who immediately wrote the lyrics a genius.   Salil Chowdhury Composer, Musician, Lyricist, Movie script writer — Salil Chowdhury wore many hats. Very rarely one come across such a genius beyond their field of excellence.    Salil in younger years : Salil from the school years used to play the harmonium, flute, sitar and since childhood grew up listening to music of all types. His father was also a good musician despite being a physician who was very fond of classical music and had a very big collection of symphonies. Salil had been hearing them since he was just 4 years old. He started learning piano from the age of 6 or 7. During his college days started composing also.  There was big peasant uprising in those times near Calcutta.So Salil jumped into the peasant movement and before he could write his MA exams, arrest warrants were issued against him, and he joined the IPTA movement as a full time Communist Party member. We both had common interest with blogs on old Bollywood movies and music. As we moved on to the new platform not a perfect one for blogging, we thought with our passion of films why not try a full movie script together? I was in California during that time and Nathan was in Saudi Arabia the country with restrictions on social media. That was the time when IT sector was blooming in India. The inspiration of our story came from the life of Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy and the success of Infosys . We read anecdotes of their initial days of struggle and their simple lifestyle after becoming famous.
